ABOUT US

JerseySTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (“STEM”) education to pre-teen and teenage girls and underserved children in New Jersey.

 

We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.

 

Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.

Our Mission

Reduce the gender gap in STEM participation;

Bridge the innovation gap in STEM education by introducing novel formats for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math;

Address the opportunity gap by expanding access to STEM programs in underserved communities.

Nabil Mouline, MSc, MBA worked for 30 years in the Utilities and Healthcare sectors on 4 continents. At JerseySTEM, he partners with Universities to recruit volunteer college students to coach the middle school girls.

Loretta Manubag, CPA, MBA is an accomplished Senior Executive and Thought Leader with more than 30 years of success across the Telecommunications and Banking industries.

 

Loretta has held leadership positions in Finance, Accounting and Mergers & Acquisitions with Verizon and PNC Bank.

Jade Juan works in Cyber Security at J&J by day, is a pilot by night and an evangelist in STEM education for our youth always!

 

She oversees curriculum development at JerseySTEM.

NORA MELGAREJO

Local Program

Nora Melgarejo has 15+ years of enterprise account management experience working with companies in advertising, health care and IT consulting industries. She is passionate about STEM education for students and currently leading JerseySTEM local programs in Chatham, NJ area. Nora’s focus is to research and create programs, coordinate curriculum development, recruit local coaches and students. Her goal is to provide a safe environment for the students to learn and experiment technology and innovation, build resilience and confidence.

HEATHER ZULAWSKI

Development

Heather has 17+ years experience in telecommunications with the majority of her experience at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia. Heather has led both Business to Business and Business to Consumer Sales, Retention, Operations, Lifecycle Marketing & Analytics organizations.  She lives with her husband and two children in Southern New Jersey.

 

Heather has her B.A. in Interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay.

MICHAEL NORMAN

Head of Marketing

Michael Norman has 13+ years working with top technology, media, and telecom companies to drive advertising revenue and growth for their business. His experience encompasses both marketing and ad product in managerial and independent contributor roles. 

 

Michael has an M.B.A. in Marketing and a B.A. in Film and Video Production from Hofstra University.
